Tervetuloa tämän vuoden viimeiseen OulUtopian tapaamiseen! Tällä kertaan meillä on yhdistetty elokuvailta ja lukupiiritilaisuus teemalla “Rojava ja Kurdien taistelu”.
Lukupiirin tekstinä on “Vuoristojoen matkassa on monta mutkaa – Johdatus Rojavan vallankumoukseen”. On hyvä, jos pystyt lukemaan tekstin etukäteen. Vaikka tämä ei olisi mahdollista, olet joka tapauksessa tervetullut paikalle ja osallistumaan keskusteluun. Käymme tapaamisen alkuun tekstin tiiviisti läpi.
AnarKinossa näytetään myös “The Communes of Rojava: A Model In Societal Self Direction” -dokumentti (43 min). Se tarjoaa lisäpohjaa keskustelulle. Keskustelemme elokuvasta ja tekstista suomeksi ja englanniksi, jotta mahdollisimman moni voi ottaa siihen osaa.
Tilaisuus on avoin kaikille ruohonjuuripolitiikasta ja yhteiskunnallisesta muutoksesta kiinnostuneille. Tarjoamme kahvia, teetä ja naposteltavaa. Distromme on auki, ja kirjastostamme voit lainata kirjoja.

Rojava and the Kurdish Struggle

Welcome to the last OulUtopia meeting for this year! This time we will have a combined movie screening and reading group meeting on the theme “Rojava and the Kurdish Struggle”.
The reading for this meeting is the text “A Mountain River Has Many Bends – The History and Context of the Rojava Revolution”. You can read it either at the web or print out the PDF version. (The text is also available in Finnish here). If possible you should read the texts in advance but you are welcome to come and join the discussion even if you haven’t read. At the beginning of the meeting we will summarize the content of the text.
At place we will also show the documentary “The Communes of Rojava: A Model In Societal Self Direction” (43 min) which provides a good base for discussion. We will try to have the discussion in both English and Finnish, to make it possible for more people to participate
The event is open for anyone interested in grassroots-politics and social change. We will offer coffe, tea and snacks, our distro is open and you can borrow books from our library.
